Hwa Chong Institution is a premier independent school with a rich history of 89 years. It is one of the top schools in Singapore which offers education from Secondary to Pre-University level. Previously two separate but affiliated schools, The Chinese High School and Hwa Chong Junior College, the Institution was the result of a merger which was officiated on 1 January 2005. Such a move was to allow for a seamless Integrated Programme, tailored for the students who will skip the GCE 'O' Levels Examinations and sit for the GCE 'A' Levels Examinations after a six-year course. The school has the highest Oxford-Cambridge admission rate in Singapore. It also has the most number of awardees of the President's Scholarship. The main campus of the school spans a large area of 320,000 m², making it the largest high school in Singapore and South East Asia in land covered.
